Senator Antonio Trillanes IV should stop the drama and respect the legal process following the issuance of an arrest warrant against him, Malacañang said Tuesday.

"The court has spoken,” Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said in a statement.

"Whatever Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has to say can be addressed to the court. Let us stop the drama by presscon and allow the legal process to take its course,” he added.

A Makati City court has ordered the arrest of Trillanes in connection with the rebellion charges filed against him. The court set bail at P200,000 bail for the former rebel soldier’s temporary liberty.

The arrest warrant came a few weeks after President Duterte nullified the amnesty granted to Trillanes for two failed coup attempts. Trillanes supposedly fell short of meeting the amnesty requirements, including the admission of guilt for the crimes he committed.

Roque said the arrest warrant issued by the court was immediately executory unless Trillanes obtains a temporary restraining order.

"He should show respect for our court, voluntarily surrender and face the charges against him," he said in a television interview.
