The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is expecting Trami to enter the PAR on Sunday. Once inside, it will be locally called “Paeng.”

As of Saturday noon, Trami was 2,060 kilometers east of Central Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

It is currently moving west-northwest at 15 kph.

Should it maintain its speed and track, PAGASA said Trami may affect the extreme Northern Luzon area by Friday (Sept. 28). It could still intensify into a typhoon as it approaches Batanes and Babuyan group of islands by next weekend.

Meanwhile, this Sunday, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to affect Metro Manila, Southern Luzon, Eastern and Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao. These areas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

By Monday until Tuesday (Sept. 24-25), PAGASA said Trami will continue to move north-northwest. It said Northern and Eastern Luzon, and Eastern and Central Visayas could experience cloudy periods with scattered light to moderate rains to at times heavy with thunderstorms, which will be overcast with frequent light to moderate rains with gusty winds during the latter half of the forecast period.

Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula, Caraga, Soccsksargen, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental will also experience cloudy periods with widespread light to moderate rain showers and at times heavy during thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have cloudy skies with scattered light to occasional moderate rain showers and thunderstorms.

By Wednesday until Thursday (Sept. 26-27), Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley will be rainy with gusty winds.

Central and Southern Luzon, including Metro Manila, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Surigao del Norte, and eastern part of Davao Region will be cloudy with widespread rain showers and thunderstorms becoming frequent over Visayas and Bicol Region.

The rest of Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

By Friday (Sept. 28), Batanes group of island, Ilocos Region, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Cagayan, and northern Isabela will experience stormy weather as the tropical cyclone comes closer northeast of Batanes.

Trami is seen to proceed to northern Taiwan and to southeastern China on Saturday morning.

The rest of Northern and Central Luzon will have occasional light to moderate rains becoming heavy at times while the rest of Luzon, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga will have cloudy skies with widespread rain showers and thunderstorms becoming more frequent over Bicol Region, northern Palawan, Romblon, Samar Island, Masbate, and Leyte.
