Weekend road repairs cover 4 major roads in metro

Road repairs covering some sections of four major thoroughfares in Metro Manila will resume over the weekend, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Friday.

Weekend rehabilitation activities will cover the sections of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), Circumferential Road 5 (C-5 Road), Batasan Road and A.H. Lacson Avenue, according to DPWH-National Capital Region Director Melvin Navarro.

The road repairs will be carried out from 11 p.m. Friday covering the southbound directions of EDSA, from in front of Francesca Tower to after Scout Borromeo, third lane from the center island; and the northbound direction from before North Avenue, sixth lane from the center island.

Repair activities will also be undertaken at the southbound directions of C-5 Road, from before Tiendesitas on the approach of C-5 Ortigas flyover; and at gap 3 of Chainage 52 going to Chainage 420, first lane.

Further, other roads that will undergo rehabilitation include the northbound directions of A.H. Lacson Avenue, from corner Aragon Street and corner P. Florentino Street; and Batasan Road, from before Payatas Road and fronting Quezon City Polytechnic University (QCPU), second lane.

Navarro said affected lanes will re-open at 5 a.m. Monday. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
