11 arrested after joint buy-bust ops in QC

Eleven where arrested following a joint buy-bust operation was conducted in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City on Friday afternoon, police reported Sunday.

Batasan Police Station 6-Drug Enforcement Unit (PS6-SDEU) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the joint operation around 3 p.m. after reports from a confidential informant that a certain "Otong" is rampantly selling illegal drugs in the said area.

After the authorities confirmed the tip, they conducted the buy-bust operation against Melchor Alejado, 38, alias "Otong" who is a notorious drug pusher and peddler in the area, police reports said.

An undercover police posed to buy shabu from Alejado but the suspect sensed that the person he was dealing with was an undercover operative.

Report said that right before the undercover police gave the signal to arrest the subject, Alejado immediately ran to a shanty near the area.

Authorities pursued the suspect and raided the said house, apprehending Alejado.

Inside the house, police said 10 persons having a drug session were caught in the act by the operatives.

Police reported that a total of 19 pieces of sachets containing undetermined quantity of suspected shabu and eight drug paraphernalia were seized from the suspects.

Police Supt. Joel A. Villanueva, station commander of Batasan Police Station 6, said in a text message they are intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs.

"Mas lalo pa namin pinaigting ang laban po natin (We are further intensifying our fight) against illegal drugs sa tulong po ng mga barangay at (with the help of the barangays and the) community," Villanueva said.

"Malaki po tulong nila dahil po malaki tiwala nila sa PNP dahil agad po namin inaaksyonan mga report nila (They greatly helped because they have a big trust in the PNP and it's because we immediately responded to their reports," he added.

Villanueva also said that for now the arrested suspects are in the custodial facility of Police Station 6 and they will be charged for the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the "Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002." (Jhon Aldrin Casinas)

4 drug personalities including a minor nabbed in separate Navotas drug ops

Four drug personalities, including one minor, were arrested by police in separate drug operations in Navotas City on Saturday, after midnight.

Elements of the Navotas Police Intelligence Unit conducted a simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operation at about 3:15 a.m. on A. Mariano St. Barangay Tangos, Navotas City.

Police arrested two individuals who were caught while transacting illegal substances.

Police identified the suspects as Rodolfo Atienza, 42, resident of 12JB Santos St. Wawa, Barangay Tangos, Navotas City; and Lourdes Capulong, 39, resident of 123 A.. Cruz St., Barangay Tangos, Navotas City.

Later, at about 4:05 a.m., two others, including one minor, were apprehended by elements of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit during a buy-bust operation on V. Cruz St. Barangay Tangos, Navotas City.

Police identified the adult drug suspect as Jay-R Feliciano, 33, whose residence is unknown.

Spaniard arrested for hurting Filipino girlfriend in Makati bar

A Spanish national was apprehended after he allegedly choked and slapped his Filipino girlfriend at a bar inside a mall in Makati City early Sunday morning.

The suspect was identified as Antonio Guerrero Castro, 40, a tourist, currently residing

at Light Residences Condominium, Madison St. in Barangay Barangka-Ilaya, Mandaluyong City.

Castro, according to investigators, attacked his girlfriend, Marilyn Dugan, while they were having a drinking binge at Havana Bar, Greenbelt 3 Mall in Barangay San Lorenzo, Makati at 3:10 a.m.

Before the attack, Dugan said Castro took her cellphone and placed it inside his bag. When she was trying to get it back, her boyfriend got irked.

Enrique Tomboc, a security guard, intervened and arrested the suspect.

Then, the security guard called cops and turned over the Spanish national to their custody.

It was learned that Dugan and Castro have been in a relationship for two years.

Anti-narc cops nab 8 drug suspects in separate operation in Taguig

Anti-narcotics police arrested eight drug suspects in separate police operations in Taguig City Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

First to fall to the authorities were Jose Valentino De Castro, Ranilo Bradecina, Rolly Ordoñez, Christian Paulino Ramirez, and Jolly Cabrera.

The anti-illegal drug operation led by PSI Salvador Camasu at 7:20 p.m. along Carlos St., Barangay Tuktukan resulted in the arrest of the said suspects.

Recovered from them were four sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 0.4 grams, one empty sachet containing traces of suspected shabu, one glass water pipe, one aluminum foil strip, and two disposable lighters.

At 4:30 a.m., police along Balimbing Street, Brgy. Katuparan, Taguig City arrested Gideon Salude. According to authorities, they were patrolling the area when they saw Salude.

When asked what he was doing in the area, Salude could not tell the cops and when further asked to empty his pocket, it yielded two sachets of suspected shabu, which resulted in his arrest.

At about 3 a.m., PCP 6 personnel who were conducting anti-criminality operation along Gen Luna St., Brgy Ususan, arrested Ramirenzo Frondoza and John Mark Angeles for having in their possession two sachets containing suspected shabu more or less 1.8 grams.

All eight who were arrested were brought to the SDEU in Taguig for investigation while necessary documents are being readied for the filing of a case before the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office for Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Dhel Nazario)
