TESDA training center to rise in Maasin City

MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte - The Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will build a training center in Southern Leyte.

TESDA Director General Guiling Mamondiong told members of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Southern Leyte chapter, Southern Leyte Rep.Roger G. Mercado and Gov.Damian G. Mercado that the agency will fund the construction of the second training center in Eastern Visayas to be based in Maasin City.

Mamodiong said TESDA has inaugurated the first training center in Cabucgayan, Biliran worth P25 million.

He said the second TESDA training center will be built at the former site of the Southern Leyte Provincial Hospital.

Mamondiong said aside from the center, TESDA will also build a dormitory for the use of the students from far-flung towns of Southern Leyte.

He underscored the vital role of their agency in training and enhancing the skills of students and trainees, especially those keen on working overseas.

LMP Southern Leyte Vice President and San Juan Mayor Virgilio A. Mortera joined Rep.Mercado and Governor Mercado in thanking TESDA for the scheduled construction of the training center in the province.
