Mini Asia and British United Automobiles have jointly announced that the new Mini three-door, the new Mini five-door and the new Mini Cabrio are now available in the Philippines.
The British premium automobile manufacturer updates its original models in the premium small car segment with refined exteriors and new features. The update includes fresh design accentuations, innovations in the field of drive technology and additional customization options. Further upgrades to the original Mini also include new engine-transmission combinations, an extended range of standard features, newly designed headlights and rear lights, additional body finishes and improved connectivity technology for convenience and infotainment.
New LED headlights
As one of the trademark characteristics for the front view of the circular headlights of the new Mini three-door, the new Mini five-door and the new Mini Cabrio feature an entirely new design. The latest generation of the LED modules for low and high beam offers increased brightness. The LED daytime driving light and the turn indicator light are generated by a ring which surrounds the entire contour of the headlight.
Rear lights with Union Jack design
As a clear reference to the brand’s British origins, the upright LED light units at the rear of the new Mini three-door, the new Mini five-door and the new Mini Cabrio now appear in a Union Jack design. The flag motif is recreated in the structure of the light functions. The turn indicators are horizontally arranged and the brake lights are vertically aligned, with the tail light additionally representing the diagonal lines of the British flag.
Three new body finishes
The new Mini three-door, the new Mini five-door and the new Mini Cabrio are now available in additional colors. Emerald Grey metallic, Starlight Blue metallic and Solaris Orange metallic are now also included in the program. The selection of light alloy wheels has been expanded as well. The 17-inch light alloy wheels in the design style Propeller Spoke two-tone is now available for the Cooper. Rail Spoke two-tone design for the Cooper S is also available in 17-inches and are new additions to the program.
New leather trims, interior surfaces and color lines.
To add a touch of individual style to the interior of the new Mini three-door, Mini five-door and new Mini Cabrio, a broad selection of seat surfaces, interior surfaces and color lines are available. New features for the Mini three-door include the Chester leather trim in Malt Brown and a color line also available in Malt Brown. In addition, the optional Mini Yours Interior Style Piano Black is now available with illumination.
Revised engines and new transmissions
Updated to the engine of the Mini three-door, the new Mini five-door and the new Mini Cabrio results in a reduction of fuel consumption and CO2 figures by as much as five percent. Emissions have been further optimized to comply with the more rigorous exhaust emission standards of the future.
In order to further reduce weight, the engine covers are made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The material used to make them is carbon fiber recyclate generated in the production of BMW i automobiles. In addition, all petrol engines feature petrol direct injection with the maximum pressure increased from 200 to 350 bar and turbocharger blades made of highly heat-resilient material. The Mini Cooper three- and five-door models are powered by a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine which produces 136-hp and 220-Nm of torque, while the Mini Cabrio and S variants are powered by a two-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine which outputs 192-hp and 280-Nm of torque. The Mini John Cooper Works three-door features a two-liter four-cylinder engine with 231-hp and 320-Nm of torque.
A seven-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is optionally available for the models on the Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S. The new transmission type is characterized by very fast gearshifts, enabling extremely sporty acceleration maneuvers without torque interrupt. It is operated using a newly designed electronic gear selector lever.
Pricing
The new Mini three-door, the new Mini five-door and the new Mini Cabrio are now available for viewing at the British United Automobiles showroom. The new Mini Cooper three-door is priced at P2,550,000 and the Mini Cooper five-door is priced at P2,650,000, while their S variants are P3,000,000 and P3,100,000 respectively. The new Mini John Cooper Works three-door is priced at P3,850,000, while the new Mini Cooper SD Convertible is priced at P3,350,000.
