The President, a known gun enthusiast, applied for a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance for the renewal of his license to own and possess firearms (LTOPF), according to his assistant Christopher Go.

“Renewal ng LTOPF so kelangan ng NBI clearance, drug test and neuro (test). He complied,” Go said in a message to Palace reporters.

In the photos shared by Go, the President underwent the NBI biometrics clearance system that included image capture, fingerprint scanning, and verification before NBI personnel at the Palace.

Under the country's firearms law, gun owners are required to renew license to possess firearms every two years.

The President has presided over a joint military and police command conference in Malacanñang Tuesday. Prior to the meeting, Duterte angrily scolded more than a 100 erring cops during a presentation at the Palace grounds.

He also met with Indian billionaire Yusuff Ali Musaliam Veettil Abdul Kader, chairman and managing director of Lulu Group International, in Malacañang.
