TS 'Jongdari' to bring light to moderate rains over Luzon, Visayas


Tropical storm "Jongdari" spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility would enhance the prevailing southwest monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday.

As of 3 a.m., the center of "Jongdari" was last observed at 1,515 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon with maximum winds of 65 kms per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 80 kph, and slowly moving southwest at 15 kph.

PAGASA said Metro Manila, the regions of Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa and Western Visayas would experience light to moderate rains due to the southwest monsoon.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are also expected over the Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas.

The rest of the country will have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms. (PNA)
