Former CA justice Puno dies, 95

Former Court of Appeals Justice Ricardo C. Puno Sr. passed away on Wednesday at the age of 95.

Puno’s son, former Antipolo representative Roberto "Robbie" Puno, confirmed the news of the lawyer’s passing.

“Today, my dad, Justice Ricardo C. Puno Sr., joined his Creator,” the younger Puno wrote on his Facebook account.

"We love you dad,” the Filipino politician continued.

Puno Sr., who founded Puno & Puno Law Office, served as Court of Appeals Associate Justice from 1973-1978, and Minister of Justice from 1979-1984.

He also authored books such as "An Outline of Philippine Civil Law", "Cases and Comments on the Law on Succession in the Philippines," and "The New Parameters of Registration in the Family Code".

The former justice also taught in Ateneo de Manila University, San Beda College, Manuel L. Quezon University, University of Santo Tomas, San Sebastian College, Adamson University, and University of the Philippines Law Center.
