CAMP OSCAR FLORENDO, La Union — The man found murdered in an abandoned sports utility vehicle (SUV) in in Barangay Corro-oy, Santol, this province, last week was identified yesterday by police as a former bodyguard of the vice mayor of Marcos town in Ilocos Norte.
Superintendent Mary Crystal B. Peralta, Police Regional Office (PRO1) spokesperson, identified the dead man as Reynard Mostoles, of Nagrebcan, Luna, La Union, and a former bodyguard of Marcos Vice Mayor Jose Ermitanyo.
Peralta said PRO1 probers are still investigating the case with the Manila Police District (MPD) because the black Toyota SUV in which Mostoles’ body was found is registered to a certain “Cesar” of Tondo, Manila.
Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula, PRO1 regional director, said the PNP is doing their utmost effort in finding and jailing the ones responsible for this matter and give justice to the family of the victim.
Incidentally, Peralta mentioned that Vice Mayor Ermitanyo was previously investigated by police for alleged links to the murder of Marcos Mayor Arsenio Agustin on June 3, 2017.
