Every year, the city government of Tanauan commemorates the birthdate of Mabini every 23rd of July at Mabini Shrine in Barangay Talaga, the place where he was born.

Mabini Day has been declared as a special non-working day in the whole province of Batangas, pursuant to Proclamation 2367 since July, 1984.

Villar said Mabini’s struggle was a great example for every Filipino, especially to the youth, despite his poverty and disability.

“Despite of his poverty and disability, nakapagtapos siya ng abogasiya (he was able to finish law) nakuha niya yung (he attained his) fullest potential at naging bayani pa siya (moreso became a hero), he is a very good role model to all the youth” Villar said.

Villar led the floral offering together with 3rd District Congresswoman Maytet Collantes, Tanauan City Mayor Jhoanna Corona-Villamor, Vice Mayor Benedicto Corona and other city officials; Provincial Board Members Alfredo Corona and Devs Balba; and Provincial Tourism Head, Atty. Sylvia Marasigan.
