What is your comfort food?

Untitled-2

The food that you keep coming back to and yearn for to satisfy a physical and emotional hunger.

The dish or fare that will momentarily detach you from the strain of daily deadlines and headlines and the rainy day blues.

The kind of food, be it lavish or simple, that can and will deliver you from hungry to happy.

From Pampanga to Batangas, Metro Manila to Iloilo and Cebu – and even social media, Manila Bulletin editors, reporters, and correspondents visited restaurants, eateries, street-side stalls, talked to cooks, food reviewers and even looked back the cooking practices of yesteryears to introduce or reintroduce you to food that nourishes both body and mind.

A food reviewer in Instagram interviewed for this feature also shared her take on good food and goov mood.

"Ano ba yung naaamoy mong niluluto ni nanay o lola tuwing umagang bumabagyo while ina-announce na walang pasok? Danggit? Tuyo? Hotdog? Bacon with sinangag? Champorado? Take the time na balikan ang mga masasayang alaalang yun,” she said.

“Nakaka good vibes yun.”

In today’s pages of the Sunday Bulletin issue, take a journey, a food crawl, a food trip if you will, and discover or take a closer look at the good food, your happy food, comfort food.
