An advocate of the poor, Robredo encouraged indigent farmers by informing them about the benefits of Omasenso sa Kabuhayan, her office's new project under Angat Buhay.

The program, Robredo said, is a way to "organize ordinary farmers and link them to a particular market."

The Vice President noted how difficult it is for unorganized farmers to avail of government support.

This program aims to boost the income of local farmers from Metro Naga and other nearby towns of Camarines Sur by promoting the supply of their produce to commercial establishments.

Robredo highlighted that farmers will also learn new ways to meet the demands of establishments that have committed to buy their products.

"We will provide them inputs like financial assistance from cooperatives and we will also provide them technical expertise," she said.

Such technical assistance will be provided by Department of Agriculture and Department of Trade and Industry.

Robredo said there is a need for the communities to unite to help the country's farmers.

She led the launch of the Omasenso project on July 19 in Naga City, where she met 80 farmers who participated in the project.

Robredo witnessed the signing of the memorandum of understanding between her office and different local government agencies committing to help these farmers.
