Alfonso Agordo found the dolphin on the shallow part of the sea, which he immediately reported to the authorities.

Irish Belmonte, head of the Fishery Research and Development Section, said the big waves caused the baby dolphin to be washed up ashore.

The 183-centimeter-long dolphin was found to be unharmed so they attempted to release it this morning but failed.

Belmonte shared they will try again tomorrow when the high tide brought by the southwest monsoon subsides.

The young aquatic mammal was temporarily brought back to their office for safekeeping.
