Two pushers nabbed in Tacloban City

Tacloban City - Two newly identified drug personalities were nabbed during a buy-bust operation at Brgy. 66, Paseo de Legaspi, Tacloban City on Tuesday at around 4:30 in the afternoon.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 8 Regional Director Edgar Jubay identified the suspects as Manuel Marcos alias “Maui”, 20 years old, male, jobless and a resident of Brgy. 106, Sta. Elena Tacloban City; and Dante Gumata, 46 years old, male, married, jobless and a resident of Brgy. 66, Paseo de Legaspi, Tacloban City.

Authorities yielded eight pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing about 27 grams, with an estimated market value of P183 thousand and various drug paraphernalias.

The suspects are now temporarily detained at Tacloban City Police Station Lock-Up Facility for further disposition.

The police officers said they would be charged for violations of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) of RA 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
