According to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the establishment involved is the “Megamall building under construction.”

Reports said that the fire reached third alarm at around 8 p.m.

Many fire trucks went to respond at the site, causing heavy traffic on the northbound road in front of the famous mall.

“EDSA Shaw svc. road. Northbound- temporary closed to traffic to prioritize fire trucks and rescue vehicles,”MMDA said.

At 12:15 a.m. Friday, the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) Mandaluyong declared the fire under control.

Fire investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the blaze.

The mall then immediately released a statement on Twitter.
