8 drug suspects held, marijuana plants burned in Cordillera

La Trinidad, Benguet –  Eight drug suspects were arrested, 9.64 grams of shabu were seized and 10,190 marijuana plants were uprooted in a series of anti-illegal drug raids in the Cordillera region.

The marijuana plants, which were burned at Sitio Mar-o, Bugnay, Tinglayan, Kalinga, on June 1, would have fetched P2,424,978 if sold on the streets.

Among the notable accomplishments from May 28 to June 10 was the recent arrest of a drug pusher on June 8  in La Trinidad, Benguet, during a drug bust.

The suspect was identified as Michael Miguel Sequerra, 39, a native of Santo Domingo, Nueva Ecija and residing at Poblacion, La Trinidad.

Based on records, Sequerra was arrested sometime in 2013 for the same offense and previously charged with theft. He was out on bail.

Confiscated from him were two plastic sachets containing crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, boodle money amounting to P14,000, and a cellular phone.
