Davao City – The city council’s committee on housing, rural and urban development submitted its report on the proposal to construct a two-story mall in Barangay Cabantian, Buhangin District.

The proposal involves the construction of the City Mall-Northtown, a joint venture between Citymall Commercial Centers, Inc., and Alsons Development and Investment Corporation.

The joint venture was formed to own, develop, and operate the mall.

The developer is currently applying for a preliminary application and locational clearance (PALC) for the project.

According to city council documents, the joint venture agreement between the parties showed that property owner Niacor Corporation is a shareholder of Alsons Development.

The property sits on a 1.5-hectare-property in Cabantian, with the building area to occupy around 7,400 square meters of the lot.

Around 6,000 square meters will be allocated for the mall’s parking lot, while the rest of the property will be allocated for its landscape and green area.

The application was submitted in December last year.

According to the subcommittee on housing and subdivision development, in an early copy of the committee report, the committee would support the item granted the developer follow all requirements as required for PALC requests.
