But the presidential daughter said she is open to running for any elective position and even joked about running for vice president.

“Wala pa. Depende kasi sa kalaban, depende sa pera, availability of funds, depende sa winnability. It all depends on those factors,” said Duterte in an interview at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Intramuros, Manila, today.

Asked if she’s open to running for any elective position, she replied with this: Ahh yes ma’am. Vice President? Joke lang. Yeah, I’m open.

Duterte said by tradition they usually decide months before the elections.

“Di ko pa alam. We will decide usually by tradition, one or two months before election, depending on the surveys, depending on the capacity to run a campaign,” she said.

The presidential daughter was at the poll body to attend the hearing of their petition for registration of Hugpong ng Pagbabago as a regional political party.

Asked if they are confident that the poll body will grant their position, Duterte said they are praying for a favorable decision.

“I cannot speak for the commissioners, but we pray that they will give us a favorable decision on the petition,” she said.

During the hearing, Duterte said the commissioners asked questions about their application which were duly answered by their lawyers.

She explained that they established the Hugpong ng Pagbabago for security and development in Davao City.

“To pursue the ideals of what we all want, a strong region, a secure life for our constituents, good governance and effective leadership of the members of the party,” Duterte said.

She said they were asked to submit their memorandum in five days.
