President Duterte is prepared to reassure South Korea about his government resolve to pursue justice for the 2016 killing of businessman Jee Ick Joo during upcoming visit to Seoul.
Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Ernesto Abella said the President was expected to give the assurance in case the case is raised in his meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Monday.
“I’m sure he will reassure them that everything that needs to be done is being done and that we will assure that justice will be done,” he said during a Palace press briefing.
“It’s not part of the agenda but if raised at all, it may be on a side basis. But it’s not part of the agenda,” he added.
