Muntinlupa condo yields illegal drugs

Anti-narcotics operatives today seized illegal drugs from a condominium unit during the implementation of a search warrant in Muntinlupa City.

The unit was raided by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Juanita Guerero against a certain Yang Ang Quan alias "Li Hong Peng" who was not at the premises of the unit when the operation was conducted.

Based on the report submitted to the Southern Police District, joint elements of the Muntinlupa Police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Special Operations Unit went to the place at 5:40 a.m. # 323 Marimba Bldg. Rhapsody Residences Brgy Buli, East Service Road, Muntinlupa City.

There, they stumbled upon four transparent plastic packs of suspected shabu with a combined weight of 1 kilogram, along with two cellphones, and assorted documents.

According to Senior Supt. Dionisio Bartolome, Chief of the Muntinlupa City Police, is an alleged member of a huge drug syndicate as well as his Filipina wife identified as a certain Aina Sale.

Supt. Enrico Rigor of the PNP-DEG said that the alleged drug suspects operate in Manila and in the Bicol Region.

The confiscated pieces of evidence will be turned over to the PDEA Crime lab for a laboratory examination.

A case in violation of Section 11 of RA 9165 Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied against the suspects.
