The administration is determined to work double time to improve the plight of Filipinos and would not be distracted by the political noise, Malacañang said today.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque affirmed the government’s resolve in public service after the public satisfaction with President Duterte's Cabinet dropped in the first quarter of the year based on the results of the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

Roque noted that many government agencies have made "signifiant strides" in their areas and remained committed to do more.

"The departments under the executive branch will continue to serve the nation and the best interest of our people by bringing comfortable life to disadvantaged and marginalized families, unmindful of the distraction and political noise," Roque said in a statement.

"We shall therefore work double time in highlighting policies and programs of the current administration that have the most impact to the lives of our countrymen," he added.

In the survey conducted in March, the net satisfaction rating of the President's Cabinet fell to +28 equivalent to "moderate," from +38 or "good" posted in December. The pollster said the Cabinet's net satisfaction was the lowest it received since its +22 or moderate rating in April 2016.

"We take note of the latest Social Weather Stations survey showing a +28 net satisfaction rating, which the polling firm classified as 'moderate,'" Roque said.

The latest survey results came after President Duterte renewed his appeal to government officials and workers to shun corruption and serve the public well. Duterte said he would not hesitate to fire those involved in corruption and other anomalies in government.

"We are workers of government and we are mandated to serve the public. Then you have to be courteous and protect the money of the people,” he said during a convention of motorcycle clubs in Albay yesterday.
