Suspected drug lord from Marawi nabbed in Pampanga

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- A suspected drug lord from Marawi, tagged as high-value target by PDEA and the PNP, was arrested Sunday morning during the implementation of a search warrant by joint operatives of PDEA and Magalang police in Barangay San Vicente, Magalang, Pampanga. Seized from him were P2.5 million worth of shabu and various guns and bullets.

Chief Supt. Amador V Corpus, police director, said that at around 4 a.m. Sunday, joint operatives of PDEA and Magalang police armed with search warrant issued by Judge Cecilyn E. Burgos-Villavert of Regional Trial Court Branch 89, Quezon City swooped down at Bliss 1, Barangay San Vicente, Magalang, Pampanga which resulted in the arrest of Akil Imam, 29, native of Marawi City, Mindanao.

The arrest of the suspect came after the authorities seized from him 34 sachets of shabu; electronic weighing scale; two caliber 45 pistols; two magazines; seven live cal 45 bullets; two pouch bags; one small toolbox; one lighter; one pair of scissors; mini money counting machine and a bundle of unused plastic sachets.

According to the PDEA and the PNP, seized suspected shabu weighs about 500 grams with street value of P2,500,000.

The arrested suspect and the seized pieces of evidence are now in the custody PDEA RO3 for proper disposition.

"This is another feather in the cap for both the PNP and the PDEA. Our joint efforts to combat drugs and put these absconders behind jail continue to pay off. We will not stop and we will win our waging war uphand," Corpus added.
