Singer Tany (real name Kim Jin-soo), 22, was in a car on the Namhae Expressway from Jangheung county towards Mokpo when the vehicle crashed and hit a structure at about 2:30 a.m.

The car caught fire and Tany and an unidentified companion died at the scene. A report stated that bodies were totally burnt that made it difficult to identify them immediately. A DNA test will be conducted.

Tany went to his hometown to meet his parents, according to Korean media. The police are currently investigating the car accident.

It was reported that Tany was preparing for an album scheduled in the second half of the year.

In December 2016, Tany made his debut with the song “Always Remember,” a song dedicated to the victims of the Sewol ferry sinking, which occurred on April 16, 2014.

Last January, he released the song “Tomorrow A Better Day.”
