Tourism's Alegre in golf inaugural

Tourism Assistant Sec. Frederick “Ricky” Alegre Tourism Assistant Sec. Frederick “Ricky” AlegreTourism Assistant Sec. Frederick "Ricky" Alegre will be the guest of honor and speaker when the Bravo Golf Club holds its grand inauguration on April 7 in Dumaguete City.

“We are distinctly honored to have Asec Alegre as our special guest,” said Edilberto B. “Bert” Bravo. “It gives us singular pleasure as Asec Alegre is a very busy man these days, what with the hot Boracay issue and other Tourism concerns needing his much-valued attention.”

Alegre, an avid golfer himself, described his invitation as “a milestone,” putting emphasis to the fact that the Bravo Golf Club’s inauguration officially marks the baptism of the first championship course in Negros Oriental.

“It is, indeed, very auspicious enough as the Bravo Golf Club opens at a time when sports tourism is a top priority of the Department of Tourism,” said Alegre, also the DOT spokesperson. “This crown jewel in Negros Oriental will attract more golfers from all over the world.”

After his inspirational talk morning of April 7, Alegre will hit the ceremonial tee shot together with Bravo, who spent 12 years transforming the 9-hole course built in 1945 into a state-of-the-art 18-hole charmer after buying it in 1996.
