CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — A 46-year-old village councilman was shot dead and a Grade 10 student hit by a stray bullet, here, on Thursday morning, police said.
The incident happened at 9:30 a.m. in Barangay Palo-Alto, when a gunman appeared from nowhere and shot Kagawad Alejandro Aguilar while he was standing in front of a carwash.
The gunman fire several times, killing Aguilar on the spot and also hitting Mark Jones Soriano, 16, a high school student at the Palo Alto Integrated School.
Soriano was treated at the Global Medical Hospital for a bullet wound in the shoulder.
Meanwhile, probers were still determining the motive in the attack on Kag. Aguilar.
