10 a.m. – La Salle vs UE (m)

La Salle displayed its championship experience as it bested Far Eastern University, 25-17, 21-25, 16-25, 25-20, 15-5, last night to secure at least a playoff for one of the Final Four berths in UAAP women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.

The Lady Spikers zoomed to a quick 4-0 start in the fifth set and never looked back, waxing hot at the attack lane while providing a solid defensive wall at the net to snare their eighth win in 10 outings.

The win solidified La Salle’s hold of the solo top spot, pulling away from the rest of the field as FEU fell to solo third with their fourth loss against six wins.

NU and Ateneo are tied at second with 6-3 cards.

Majoy Baron starred for the Lady Spikers with 18 points built on 10 kills, five aces and three blocks.

In the other women’s game, Adamson survived University of the East, 19-25, 25-11, 16-25, 25-16, 15-12, yesterday to keep its Final Four bid alive in UAAP women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.

Jema Galanza turned things around for the Lady Falcons who needed five sets to hold off the Lady Warriors and pick up their fourth win against five losses.

Adamson snapped a two-game slide while ending UE’s rare back-to-back wins.

UE fell deeper in the cellar with 2-7.

In men’s play, National University tightened its grip of the top spot as it outplayed La Salle, 26-24, 19-25, 25-20, 28-26.
