De Ocampo vs Olivarez in Game 1

De Ocampo Memorial College takes another crack at the crown when it starts its best-of-three finals showdown with Olivarez College today in the NCRAA men’s basketball in Parañaque City.

The Cobras, denied of a championship last season, hope to draw first blood against the Sea Lions in Game 1 of their series set at 10 a.m.

Led by MVP candidate Dahrell Caranguian, the Cobras made a return trip to the finals by outlasting the Andre Paras-less AMA Online Titans, 108-106, in the semifinal round of this tournament presented by Sta. Lucia Land and supported by Bread Talk and Max's with LGR as the official outfitter.

He finished with 26 points, including a bundle during the stretch when the Cobras rallied from 11 points down in the third period.

Like the Cobras, the Sea Lions are also hungry for the championship this season and they showed it by topping their group record.

The Sea Lions will bank on Vinny Begaso and Jayboy Solis on offense, but will still need their suffocating pressure defense against a Cobras squad loaded in firepower.

In eliminating Philippine Merchant Maritime School, the Sea Lions dictated the tempo earlier on and kept their composure on their way to a 68-60 triumph.
