Cebu City — Authorities here are alarmed how a mother can exploit her own three-year-old son by using him in her cyber pornography trade.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) Women and Children’s Protection Center (WCPC) Visayas Field Unit, International Justice Mission (IJM), Lapu-Lapu City WCPC, Lapu-Lapu Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, the PNP Regional Anti-Cybercrime Group, and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Region 7 staged an entrapment operation at the suspect’s residence in Barangay Looc, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday.

According to the IJM statement, the boy was a victim of Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC), and worse, his own mother, who hails from Tabogon town, was nabbed as his suspected trafficker.

During the entrapment operation, the suspect graphically described how she would sexually abuse her own son in exchange for money.

The suspect was caught by police in the act of offering to sexually abuse the 3- year-old boy and “live-stream” the sexual acts from her Lapu-Lapu home.

Several smart phones and money transfer receipts were seized from the suspect at her residence pursuant to the implementation of the search warrant issued by Judge Ramon Daomilas, Jr. of RTC Branch 10, designated as a Cybercrime court.

According to the WCPC unit chief Sr. Supt. Romeo Perigo, they uncovered the illegal activities of the suspect last January, and discovered that she was sending sexually explicit videos of young children forced to perform sex acts with her.

Perigo said it was very disturbing that children being used in online sexual exploitation cases are becoming younger and younger.
