Ipsos MORI, United Kingdom's second largest market research organization, in their "Perils of Perception 2017" study, showed that Philippines is the third among 38 nations which are "most ignorant" on pressing topics in their land.
About 500 individuals, with ages ranging from 16 to 64, were surveyed in the country.
People who took part in the survey were asked about the following subjects: murder and suicide rates, terrorist deaths, teenage pregnancy, and health issues like vaccination, autism, and diabetes.
Topics like religion, consumption of alcohol and sugar, Facebook usage, vehicle and smartphone ownership, were also covered in the study.
Despite being the “least inaccurate” on the aforementioned subjects, the study revealed that Filipinos--alongside Indians, and Peruvians--were the “most confident" in their answers.
The study was conducted from September 28 until October 19, 2017 across 38 countries.
Data showed that Swedes were the most accurate in their perceptions of the matters concerning their country, followed by Norway and Denmark.
South Africa was labeled worst in terms of accuracy on issues, followed by Brazil. (Noreen Jazul, MB Online)
