She recalled it wasn't easy for her then to bag a modeling job against fair-skinned, taller and mestiza teenagers. She deemed herself unpretty then because of these rejections.

Despite being a casting reject, her “morena” feature had its moments. She won the Ms. MSLP 2015 of Gen. Trias, Cavite, beating around 300 beauty contestants. While Kate’s perseverance in pursuing her dream to enter modeling and acting also paid off. She, to date, has done four commercials. And she has signed a five-year contract with GMA Artist Center. Her latest project with the Kapuso Network is “Sherlock Jr.” that starts airing today on GMA Telebabad.

The young actress is simply elated for another opportunity to showcase her acting skills. And she said it's an honor that she's entrusted with another role by GMA-7 and to work with matinee idol Ruru Madrid, the lead actor of “Sherlock Jr.” Kate plays Jenny Nuñez, the sister of Ruru on the series.

Kate first appeared on “Wagas” and this was followed by “Destiny Rose.”

So what's her goal in showbiz, is it fame or fortune?

Kate said that everything is up to her if she wants to accomplish things in her career or not.

Aside from money, Kate’s takeaway so far from her budding showbiz career is learning the art of patience.

So ngayon gulat ako. Hindi pa ako sanay sa pakikisalamuha hindi pa ako magaling sa ganun pero na work out ko dahil sa showbiz,” she related.

Kapuso viewers abroad can also catch “Sherlock Jr.” via GMA’s flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV. To check the program schedule for each territory, visit their official website www.gmapinoytv.com.
