I’ve been using the HyperX Cloud II for a few years now and I’ve always been satisfied with it. There’s no real reason for me to upgrade or change headsets any time soon. But with the rise of the Nintendo Switch, a few things needs to be considered. This is where the Cloud Earbuds come into play.

For starters: Audio quality is top notch. Running Assassin’s Creed Odyssey allowed me to differentiate sound locations, mostly talking NPCs, which helped me locate them faster. But more importantly, I ran a few Fortnite sessions with a Nintendo Switch I borrowed and the sound quality was clear enough I was able to distinguish enemy locations, if they’re on the rear left, or if they’re upstairs, or if someone’s harvesting resources deep in the Wailing Woods.

The cord has its signature HyperX red and is long enough between you and your laptop or desktop. At the same time it doesn’t feel too long between you and your Switch or DualShock 4. The design isn’t loud and doesn’t scream “I am a gamer!” You can pack your Switch and this earbuds to save a ton of space and have a far more mobile Switch gaming experience. Straight from the box comes in multiple earpieces for you to select the best fit.

The Cloud Earbuds are comfortable even after long hours of gaming. I’m excited to try this out with Red Dead Redemption 2 and will update the article online.
