PLDT and Smart transforms Makati main store into Experience Hub
PLDT and Smart Communications Inc. have transformed its main store at the Ramon Cojuangco Building (RCB) into an “Experience Hub” as an ode to its home for five years and the innovations it has spurred since then.
“Driven by our purpose to inspire innovation through generations, and our mission to deliver meaningful connections and experiences so that our customers can live fuller lives, we have transformed our traditional sales and store set up at PLDT RCB into an Experience Hub that ushers in the Smart Home concept to Makatizens. This store should be our blueprint. We are looking forward to having more immersive experiences in our PLDT and Smart Stores,” said PLDT and Smart First Vice President and Head of Consumer Sales Group John Y. Palanca.
The hub allows customers to not only conduct regular transactions, but also experience the telco’s wide ranging digital services, particularly its 5G network. Notably, the RBC office was where the country’s first 5G-enabled video call was conducted, launched by PLDT.
Customers can view the newest 5G handsets and accessories available for testing, as well as apply for its unlimited 5G mobile plans.
The hub has a “smart home” layout and design that simulates ways in which digital solutions will influence their daily living, from work-from-home set ups, using smart fitness equipment, to using PLDT StreamTV, an Android TV speaker box powered by Dolby with Google Assistant in the family area.
PLDT Home’s security device products like indoor and outdoor cameras, video doorbells and smart locks are also on display at the hub.
For transactions, customers can use the self-service kiosks and pay machines at the headquarters store, as well as book virtual or on-site appointments at the PLDT RCB.
The firm said they will soon install tools and experiences to cater to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
“When our customers step into our stores, they can experience innovative products firsthand, accompanied by personalized service provided by our store specialists. We will showcase how technology can empower them in their everyday lives, whether for their families or businesses,“ said PLDT and Smart VP and Head of Retail Operations and Transformation Eden Techico.
Present at the launch were PLDT and Smart led by President and CEO Alfredo S. Panlilio, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business Alex O. Caeg, SVP and Head of Consumer Business Home Jeremiah de la Cruz, FVP and Head of Enterprise and International Business Groups Mitch L. Locsin, Chief Technology Officer Jojo G. Gendrano, and Chief People Officer Gina P. Ordoñez, along with other key executives and heads of teams.
PLDT Ambassador and Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Marquez Dee also graced the event.
Previously, the firm has launched Experience Hubs at the Festival Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City; and SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
