GlobeTelecom Inc. Tuesday, (March 9) announced it has upgraded its network in Baler, Aurora and Donsol, Sorsogon Province to 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) and will shift to this new standard of mobile data in both areas next month, April 6, 2021.
Hence, the telco now urges subscribers in the two areas to update their 3G SIM cards to 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM.
Todate, Globe customers in Ogod, Dikildit, Dianawan, Barangay ll (Poblacion), Barangay lll (Poblacion), Dancalan, Macalaya, Poso Poblacion and Dao in Donsol, Sorsogon and in Zabali, Diteki, Reserva, South Poblacion and Suclayin in Baler, Aurora can take advantage of faster internet by using the new technology.
“We highly encourage our customers who continue using a 3G SIM to update their SIMs to 4G LTE to have a better internet experience," Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group, reiterated.
"With the internet now an essential need, we want our customers to have a much better data experience,” he added.
Globe customers in Donsol and Baler can go to any Globe store to update their SIMs.
Upgrading to 5G ready 4G LTE SIM card is free and customers retain their existing numbers.
For security reasons, customers are advised to upgrade their SIM cards only at Globe Stores.
Customers who wish to upgrade their mobile devices can also check all Globe stores to see the affordable and available 5G-ready 4G/LTE capable mobile devices.
