2,000 cops to be deployed in Region 3 for June 4 opening of classes

Supnad Camp Olivas, Pampanga – A total of 1,837 Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel will be deployed in the different provinces of Region 3 to provide public safety and police visibility in schools, colleges, universities and its nearby areas which are most likely to be the chosen target places of criminal elements during the opening of classes on June 4. Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Director Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus revealed that guidelines were already established in accordance with “IMPLAN 10/2018 Ligtas Balik- Eskwela 2018,” a directive that emanated from the national headquarters and is being conducted annually. Police Assistance Desks with a Police Commissioned Officer as its leader will be established in every school on June 4, 2018 to assist students in any eventuality. Corpus directed all field officers to personally visit the different schools and coordinate with school officials in order to deter lawless elements from doing illegal activities such as hold-up, pick-pocketing, snatching, drug pushing, and even kidnapping. The police will be working hand in hand with the traffic auxiliaries for traffic control and direction in areas where the volume of students traveling to and from the various schools in the different provinces/cities and road traffic is expected to elevate. “Once again, I am calling for the cooperation of the public to prevent any crime in the community especially in our learning institutions by providing authorities relevant and timely information through PRO3 hotline numbers 0998-5985330/ 0917- 5562597and social media (facebook account: www.facebook.com/PoliceRegionalOffice3),” Corpus said.
