* There were at least 9 Pinoy celebrities appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte to various offices.
* Some 14 international superstars passed away last year, from David Bowie to Carrie Fisher and George Michael.
* 10 Filipino celebrities got engaged last year, from Anne Curtis to Coleen Garcia.
* Too bad for 57 celebrity couples in Hollywood who called it quits in 2016. At least * 6 Filipino celeb couples also ended their romance in the last 12 months, most notably Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano.
* No less than 52 bands fell apart, one of which was Korean girl group 2NE1
* We lost 18 Filipino celebrities, from German “Kuya Germs” Moreno to director Wenn Deramas.
* One of 15 babies born to celebrity parents in 2016 is son Elliott of Paul Soriano and Toni Gonzaga.
