By Minka Klaudia Tiangco  The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) is asking the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for a report on the number of and areas where vote counting machines (VCMs) and SD cards malfunctioned. Earlier, PPCRV National Chairperson Myla Villanueva said they also requested the Comelec for access to the transmission router logs and data from the central server, which they will use to further investigate if there were any irregularities during the glitch that delayed the release of election results on May 13. PPRCV Chair Myla Villanueva (ELLSON QUISMORIO / MANILA BULLETIN) PPRCV Chair Myla Villanueva (ELLSON QUISMORIO / MANILA BULLETIN) Villanueva said they were expecting the Comelec to provide them with this information after a week. "We are still preparing our data so we can continue to improve our elections, nothing more than that," she said. "Gusto lang namin malaman kung saan ba (may mga nasirang election equipment), kalat-kalat ba (We just want to know where the election equipment malfunctioned, are they spread out)," she added. Data from the Comelec showed that there were over 1,000 SD cards and up to 600 VCMs that did not work in the elections. On election day, the PPCRV asked Comelec for access to the transparency server logs after a technical glitch caused a seven-hour delay on the release of election results. The PPCRV's investigation showed that an application in the transparency server caused a data 'bottleneck' which led to the delay, Villanueva bared on Tuesday. The PPCRV official also confirmed that data was being transmitted to the server during the delay, and that the data transmitted matched the data on the Comelec's public access website. #MatalinongBoto2019
