In another no-relief effort, Hollis-Jeffferson shrugged off his tired legs and showed a Kobe-esque turnaround fadeaway jumper over the outstretched arms of the bigger Cheick Diallo to put the Tropang Giga ahead for good with 1:07 left in the game.

The last conference Best Import also mustered all of his remaining strength in one big defensive thrust for TNT as he tapped the ball on the hands of Diallo to force the FiberXers to a 24-second violation and the game-preserving stop for the Tropang Giga.

Hollis-Jefferson finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds to go with four assists and two steals while RR Pogoy fired 22 points built on five triples as the Tropang Giga improved to a 4-2 record in the standings.

Calvin Oftana also chipped in 12 points – including the crucial right wing triple that knotted the game at 96-all with 2:45 left in the game while Rey Nambatac had 13.

Back-to-back baskets from Diallo actually gave Converge a 96-91 lead heading into the four minutes of the contest but the team just couldn’t execute against the tough defense of TNT.

The dry spell proved to be costly for Converge as Hollis-Jefferson and Oftana ended up conniving on a 7-0 finishing kick to snap the FiberXers’ own four-game winning run.

Diallo had 37 points and 15 rebounds while top rookie pick Justine Baltazar chipped in 17 for Converge which slid to a 6-3 slate.

The three-headed backcourt of Alec Stockton, Jordan Heading and Schonny Winston, which TNT head coach Chot Reyes warned his team about, was not on its usual explosive form only combining for 30 points.
