LRT-2 resumes normal operations after power supply issue

Operations of the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) resumed on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 11, after a temporary suspension due to a power supply problem.

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said that as of 1 p.m., all trains and stations from Recto to Antipolo in both directions are now fully operational.

“Balik-normal na ang operasyon ng LRT Line 2. May biyahe na mula Recto hanggang Antipolo at pabalik (Operations of LRT Line 2 have returned to normal. Trains are now running between Recto and Antipolo, and vice versa),” the LRTA tweeted.

Earlier, the LRTA suspended services to address a power supply disruption that affected the line's electrical systems.

“Pansamantalang nagpapatupad ng provisionary service ang LRT-2 dahil sa power supply problem. Ang biyahe ng tren ay mula Antipolo hanggang V. Mapa lamang at pabalik (The LRT-2 was offering provisional service due to a power supply issue. Train trips were operating only between Antipolo and V. Mapa, and vice versa),” the LRTA said.
