Smart introduces Loan-A-Load Service

Designed to help subscribers borrow data when they run out, Smart Communications Inc. (Smart) has introduced a new service called Loan-A-Load.  This innovative service aims to keep users connected, even when their data allocation is depleted.

Currently available to Smart Prepaid users on Android devices, Loan-A-Load offers three affordable data packages: 100 MB for PHP 5, 200 MB for PHP 10, and 300 MB for PHP 15, all valid for one day. These options provide the flexibility users need to continue their online activities, whether it’s for browsing, social media, or essential communications.

Using Loan-A-Load is straightforward. Subscribers need to activate their Smart mobile data with WiFi turned off, switch to Facebook Free Mode, and ensure their mobile number is linked to their Facebook account. They can then select their preferred Loan-A-Load package from the Facebook Mobile Center and confirm the transaction.

"Now that we’ve shifted most of our activities online, connectivity has become essential. With Loan-A-Load, we want to ensure our subscribers can stay connected whenever and wherever they need it the most—even if they have run out of load,” said Lloyd Manaloto, First Vice President for Prepaid Marketing, Content, and Business Development at Smart.

Jerome Y. Almirante, Vice President and Head of Innovations and Digital Services at Smart, highlighted the company’s commitment to improving user experience, stating, "Smart is proud to offer this service to our subscribers, as it leads the way in delivering solutions that truly improve our users' daily lives."

Loan-A-Load is especially beneficial in situations where regular top-up services are unavailable, such as during natural disasters or emergencies. This service allows subscribers to quickly borrow data to stay informed and keep in touch with family and friends.

The service is also a valuable tool for students and professionals who depend on mobile data for online classes or remote work. By borrowing data, they can ensure they don’t miss important lessons or deadlines.

There are a few conditions for using Loan-A-Load. Subscribers can only borrow data once at a time, must not have any existing loan balance, and need to have been active on the Smart network for at least 30 days. After repaying a previous loan, they can borrow data again.

Loan-A-Load is backed by Smart’s top-notch mobile network, which has been recognized for delivering the Philippines’ Best 5G Coverage Experience by independent network analytics firm Opensignal. This new service is yet another example of Smart’s commitment to keeping its subscribers connected, no matter the circumstances.
