TACLOBAN CITY – Twenty-two persons were injured in a collision involving two buses from the same company and two other vehicles on Tuesday, July 16, in Barangay Ichon, Katipunan, Silago, Southern Leyte.

Police said involved vehicles were Philtranco bus driven by Rame Bingel with several passengers, another Philtranco bus driven by Edmund Ocfemia, also with several passengers, a Kia Bonggo driven by Virgel Santuya Gula, with passengers, and a motorcycle owned by Zincky Aste Daloraya.
Investigation said Bingel’s bus attempted to overtake the Kia Bonggo but accidentally hit the vehicle and collided with Ocfemia’s bus on the opposite lane.
The Kia Bonggo crashed into a motorcycle parked on the roadside.
Bingel and Ocfemia sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital here.
Passengers of the three vehicles sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Abuyog District Hospital.
Involved vehicles were impounded at the Silago Municipal Police Station.
Bingel's bus the Kia Bonggo were on their way to Abuyog, Leyte and Ocfemia’s bus was travelling to Manila.
