Cutting-edge IT programs to empower working students

Mapúa Malayan Digital College (MMDC) unveiled a pioneering approach to its IT program, integrating business education to arm students with the necessary skills for success in today's dynamic professional landscape.

Innovative Program Offerings

Mapúa Malayan Digital College (MMDC), the premier digital-first college in the Philippines, featured two distinct tracks designed to align with the evolving needs of the industry.

Under the Development-focused IT program, students can specialize in either Software Development or Network & Cybersecurity. These tracks provide in-depth training in coding, programming languages, network security, and system administration, preparing students for roles as software developers, network engineers, cybersecurity analysts, and more.

On the other hand, the Business-focused IT Program offers specializations in Marketing Technology, Entrepreneurship Technology, and Data Analytics. Empowering Real-World Experience

A cornerstone of MMDC's educational philosophy is its Projects, Problems, and Cases (PPC) learning model. This innovative approach emphasizes practical experiences, problem-solving, and analysis of real-world cases, providing students with hands-on learning opportunities.

Noel Torregoza, MMDC Instructional System Design Director, highlighted the significance of the PPC learning model.  He explained that by focusing on real-world scenarios, this approach encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity leading to deeper learning and preparing students for professional challenges.  This goes beyond technical skills, fostering higher-level thinking, communication, and leadership abilities. 

Supporting Working Students

MMDC's commitment to supporting working students is exemplified through its "Step Up sa Pangarap" movement. This initiative, now in its second year, aims to empower working students to achieve their goals despite the challenges they face.

MMDC also partnered with Concentrix to offer a unique Work and Study program that allows students to balance part-time jobs with their studies. Through salary deduction options, this program provides valuable work experience and financial support, enhancing students' employability upon graduation.

Additionally, MMDC has collaborated with GCash to provide Study Now, Pay Later options through GGives. This partnership allows students to pay for their education in installments, easing the financial burden of tuition fees. Furthermore, the association between MMDC and GCash opens doors to internship and employment opportunities within GCash, the leading finance app in the country.
