Cordillera cops net P6.3-M marijuana, shabu

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet â€“ Police discovered suspected shabu and marijuana worth P6.3 million and apprehended three drug pushers in the Cordillera region on Nov. 13.

Seventeen marijuana plantations were found in Barangay Tacadang and Palina, Kibungan, and Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet.

Uprooted were 15,770 fully grown marijuana plants and 7,000 grams of dried marijuana stalks with fruiting tops with a total standard drug price of P3.9 million.

Two marijuana plantation sites in Barangay Loccong and Buscalan, Tinglayan were discovered and 11,500 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P2.3 million were destroyed.

Three suspected drug pushers considered as street-level individuals were arrested in buy-bust operations in Baguio City and Mankayan, Benguet.

The suspects yielded suspected shabu valued at a total of P47,000.

Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief, commended operating units for their achievements.
