1,772 cops to secure ‘Undas’ in Cordillera


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera will deploy 1,772 policemen to secure All Saints' Day in the region.

PRO-Cordillera chief Brig. Gen.David Peredo Jr. said they will be deployed in strategic locations such as cemeteries, memorial parks, columbaria, and churches, conducting foot patrols, monitoring people, managing traffic, and responding quickly to emergencies.

They are backed up by  223 personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Bureau of Fire Protection and 482 volunteers from force multipliers.

Peredo said 192 police assistance desks manned by police officers and volunteers will be established in key locations to assist the public and immediately respond to incidents.

He assured the public that PRO-CAR is ready to implement its security plan to ensure the safety and security of the community. 

"We are committed to protecting a peaceful and orderly observance of Undas 2024. To achieve this, we are actively collaborating with other government agencies and volunteers to implement comprehensive security measures. We will also maximize our deployment to ensure a constant police presence. Let's work together to make this Undas a memorable occasion marked by peace, safety, and order.”

Peredo urged the people to be careful when visiting cemeteries and follow Undas safety tips.
