SPD to deploy 2,600 police officers for Undas

The Southern Police District (SPD) will be deploying more than 2,600 police personnel for Undas.

According to SPD, it is stepping up security to ensure a safe and orderly observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls Day on Nov. 1 and 2 as Filipinos are expected to visit cemeteries and columbaria.

It is coordinating with local authorities, government units, and volunteers to enhance safety throughout Southern Metro Manila.

A total of 2,627 SPD personnel will be deployed to 26 cemeteries, 20 columbaria, key border points, and major transport hubs like bus terminals, MRT and LRT stations, and airports.

The security measures to be implemented by SPD include checkpoints, anti-crime operations, foot and mobile patrols, tactical motorcycle units, and a quick response team featuring SWAT and EOD-K9 units. Medical teams will also be on standby to offer immediate assistance if needed.

"Public safety is our top priority. We encourage everyone to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or assistance desk. By working together, we can ensure a peaceful and safe Undas celebration," said SPD District Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang.

SPD covers the cities of Taguig, Muntinlupa, Paranaque, Las Pinas, Pasay and Makati, and the municipality of Pateros.
