Man wounded in Abra road rage

BANGUED, Abra – A 29-year-old man was shot and wounded by motorcycle-riding gunmen in a suspected road rage incident on the Tayum-Bucay Road in Sitio Batiwtiw, Barangay Basbasa, Tayum, Abra, this province on Friday night, Oct. 25.

Police identified the victim as Rolito B. Tejero.

Investigation said Tejero – with Dave Justice Bataller, 25, and a two-year-old boy on board – was driving a car on the way home to South Poblacion, Bucay, Abra when they were shot.

Tejero sustained a bullet wound in the back but managed to drive to the Bucay police station and report the incident. Police took Tejero to the Bucay District Hospital. 

Bataller and the boy were unhurt.

The Abra police Provincial Forensic Unit has processed the scene of the shooting. Tayum police have launched a manhunt against the gunmen.

Police said motive of the shooting incident could be road rage. However, they did not elaborate.
