The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) has showed signs of recovery in passenger traffic as it recorded in 2023 its highest yearly ridership since the pandemic.

In a report, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said passenger volume reached 49,428,465 million passengers, which is higher than 31,639,345 in 2022, 11,842,954 in 2021, and 502,315 in 2020, where COVID-19 restrictions have been imposed.

Meanwhile, the LRTA management expects a rise in LRT-2 average daily ridership in 2024 since most schools and offices have resumed full-time face-to-face work.

For 2024, the LRT-2 ridership expects passenger traffic to hit over 50 million, 92.89 million in 2025, and 98.69 million in 2026.
