The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the heat index in Dagupan City, Pangasinan reached 44°C on Thursday, April 11.
Based on the PAGASA’s daily heat index record, Dagupan City has maintained a heat index of 44°C in the past four days, which may continue on Saturday, April 13.
Meanwhile, PAGASA recorded a heat index of 43°C in Catarman, Northern Samar.
PAGASA also said areas including Bacnotan, La Union; Aborlan, Palawan; Masbate City, Masbate; and Cotabato City, Maguindanao had felt a heat index of 42°C.
The weather bureau warned the public to drink plenty of water and not to drink coffee, tea, and soda with these kinds of heat indices particularly those ranging from 42°C to 51°C.
