NPA weapons unearthed in Kalinga


TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Lawmen found a New People’s Army weapons stash in Sitio Uta, Barangay Gawaan, Balbalan, Kalinga on Tuesday, March 5.

Police Capt. Ruff Manganip, spokesperson of the Kalinga police provincial office, said they received information from rebel returnees that communist weapons were buried in the area.

A team of policemen and soldiers were formed and discovered subversive documents, one aluminum short magazine assembly for M16 rifle, 10 bullets for M14 rifle, 11 bullets for M16 rifle, 23 empty shells for M16 rifle,  two empty 9mm shells, two rifle grenades;

One case for rifle grenade, a communist flag, one green bandolier, two coiled explosive electrical wire, one yellow empty plastic gallon, and a white market sack.

Police Col. Freddie M. Lazona, Kalinga police director, said these are under the custody of the Balbalan police station.
