BFAR distributes 1.9 M bangus fingerlings in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Department of Agriculture- Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Regional Office 2 recently distributed 1,956,363 bangus or milkfish fingerlings to fisherfolk from various municipalities in this province. The dispersal activity held here in coordination with local government units was part of the agency’s regular program that provides input assistance to marginal fisherfolk. The program also seeks to increase fish production and income to achieve DA goal “Masaganang Agrikultura, Maunlad na Ekonomiya” (Abundant Agriculture, Prosperous Economy). Beneficiaries thanked the BFAR for these milkfish fingerlings. These, they said, will be a big help in their livelihood. Recipients were from the municipalities of Buguey, Aparri, Gonzaga, Santa Ana, Santa Teresita, Abulug, Pamplona, Sanchez Mira, and Claveria.
